Dear Praying Friends,
Sometimes it is difficult to find a new way to say, “God is Faithful”, when I write these prayer letters to those of you back home, but how about we just stick to the facts, and I’ll reiterate that, indeed, God is Faithful. He has been by us throughout this whole month, and I praise Him for His help, His goodness, and His open ear to our prayers. Praise the Lord. We had 15 children show up at our first Bible Club, and Amelia did a fantastic job at sharing the Gospel with them. Our entire church showed up and helped with the games, food, and organization. It really was an amazing event, and Amelia will be running these monthly until she leaves for deputation. She is in the process of training someone to take her place, so please keep her and the children’s ministry in your prayers. God was faithful. Normally, I have a very healthy immune system, and I can’t remember the last time I couldn’t be behind the pulpit for a health reason, but this last week I guess it was my turn to be hit with a stomach flu. As hard as I tried, the fever kept me down on Sunday night and about an hour before the service, I had to call our pastor in training to take my place. He was johnny on the spot and delivered a great message from James 1 to our people. I know God had that planned all along and it was just what the people needed to hear. Sheri finally convinced me to see a doctor by Thursday and I’m on the mend. Lord willing, I’ll be back to preaching in tomorrow’s services. Again, God was Faithful! We have been dealing with our vehicle for months now, but the new computer module finally came in, and we were able to get it switched out, hallelujah! We still have trouble starting the car at times, but that’s an issue for another day. God was good to get us back on the road and that’s something to praise Him for today! He is Faithful! I’ve been able to go soul winning and passing out invitations for home Bible studies every week, even while sick. Sheri, Amelia, and I covered another area of our church neighborhood, and I was able to personally meet several new people. One of which was the man laying some tile at the church. He and his wife showed up two weeks ago for our Wednesday Bible study and have been coming ever since! Praise God! It still works to go door to door and meet people, tell them about the Lord, and invite them to church. This new couple told us this week that they have invited their daughter to come join us because we teach the Bible. How about that?! God is so Faithful. We would appreciate your prayers as we travel next week to our oldest son’s wedding. I will be in Florida to perform the ceremony and then turn right around and fly back here to Brazil. Amelia has decided to forego her graduation ceremony so that she can continue the ministry here and strike while the iron is hot. We are proud of her for her determination to serve God and live for Him. God has been Faithful in her life as well. Sheri has faced some health trials this month and during her pre-surgery exams, she ran into a few more problems with her kidneys. We have found some good doctors and are in the testing stage of all of this right now, so we are praying that it is nothing serious. They have her on some new medications and she is cleared to travel to the wedding but has a full schedule of exams to complete upon her return. As soon as we have answers, we will share more with you all, but BECAUSE we know God is Faithful, and He never changes, we can absolutely trust Him with these tests as well. Amen? Thank you for all of your support this past month. You have kept us going and been an encouragement. Let’s praise God for His faithfulness and for this new couple He has brought our way. It’s been good to serve Him for another month here in Brazil, and YOU have helped make that possible. May God bless each of you! In the Service of the Saviour, Mark, Sheri, and Amelia Edwards
